Josephine's Kitchen

At Belmont Village, residents and guests eat in the community’s signature dining room, Josephine’s Kitchen. Josephine’s Kitchen is a Belmont Village treasure that includes an on-site chef at each community who is committed to using only fresh ingredients in a range of healthy and tasty snacks and meals.

It’s not by accident that Belmont has one of the nation’s leading senior dining programs. When developing our first community, experts in the fields of senior dining and nutrition were consulted. These professionals told us that an elderly person has different nutritional needs than a younger person. That’s because less muscle tissue and a lower expenditure of energy result in a need for reduced caloric intake. But while elderly adults have a reduced need for calories, they quite often need more vitamins, which they can receive through their diet.

For example, vitamin D is needed for proper calcium absorption. The elderly also need more vitamin B6 (found in chicken, fish, eggs, oats, brown rice and whole-wheat bread) to help their skin stay healthy. Also, elderly diets high in antioxidants, such as vitamin C (found in citrus fruits and leafy green vegetables) and vitamin E (found in vegetable oils, nuts, seeds and leafy green vegetables) may help immune systems and prevent the development of age-related diseases.

Besides providing seniors with a healthy diet, we also wanted to provide them with food that tastes good. So in creating Josephine's Kitchen, we decided to serve meals that offer variety with a range of choices for every taste. Diners choose from more than 24 daily menu items, served restaurant-style by a courteous and well-trained staff. Residents can enjoy three delicious, nutritious, chef-prepared meals per day served in the comfortable and friendly ambiance of Josephine’s Kitchen. Refreshing snacks and beverages are served between meals in our bright and popular Bistros.

If you haven’t had a chance to dine with your loved one in Josephine’s Kitchen, we hope you will make a reservation soon. You won’t regret it.
