Edith Wharton is best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning book, The Age of Innocence, but she also was profoundly influential on the field of interior design. Before turning to fiction, Wharton wrote The Decoration of Houses, which has been called “arguably the most influential book ever published by an American on interior decoration and design.”
