Belmont Village Senior Living is the first provider to earn certification for all of its 24 communities in Argentum’s 2016 Commitment to Quality Programming. Argentum, formerly the Assisted Living Federation of America, is the largest industry trade association for professionally managed senior living companies. This first-ever certification program is designed to complement existing state laws and regulations and take them a step farther. According to Argentum, the development of these standards is “a first step toward rigorous, professional self-regulation.”
“This is an important moment for Belmont Village, but also for senior living,” said Patricia Will, Belmont Village founder and CEO. “The Argentum standards will create consistent service quality and define the measures and requirements for professionalism. More importantly, certification means a commitment to quality and accountability that our residents and their families can trust.”
By achieving Phase 1 certification, which is valid through February 2017, Belmont Village communities have met or exceeded 12 quality standards for senior living, including resident-centered care, staff training and qualifications, infrastructure, programming and resident rights. Argentum plans to continue to develop the standards over the next few years with the input of members and partners.
