Grand Opening Celebration August 27-28
Belmont Village Senior Living will celebrate the opening of its twentieth community at 3680 N. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks with a two-day open house Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28 from noon to 4 p.m. each day. The community, which opened its doors for resident move-ins on July 25, is an example of the evolution of senior housing, as providers turn their focus toward mental fitness. Research increasingly indicates the benefits of early intervention in slowing cognitive decline and maintaining brain health. Those findings, along with a growing demand within the aging population for cognitive support, have created an important new dynamic in senior housing.
Belmont Village received national recognition earlier this year with a 2011 Healthcare Quality Improvement Award for Circle of Friends®, the company’s dedicated enrichment program for Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). According to founder and CEO Patricia Will, Belmont Village Thousand Oaks is specifically designed to support a full suite of enrichment programs developed by the company to address the cognitive continuum.
“This building, more than any other, embodies our commitment to provide meaningful cognitive enrichment for our residents. We’ve included multiple built-to-purpose spaces to support our Circle of Friends residents, as well as those on both ends of the spectrum who are either looking for ways to stay engaged and maintain function, or need a higher level of support,” said Will. “By taking this tiered approach to enrichment and programming, we’ve created a place that allows all of our residents to enjoy the best quality of life possible – a core value for us.”
In addition to Circle of Friends, the community will offer Belmont’s signature MBA Club® (for Mind-Body-Awareness), designed for more active residents who want to maintain mental fitness, and a Person-Centered Living® program for dementia care.
Lifestyle amenities at Belmont Village Thousand Oaks include several multi-purpose meeting rooms, such as a library, a technology center with Wi-Fi access, a professionally supervised fitness center offering wellness programs and therapy services, and a variety of outdoor spaces. Hospitality and dining services include chef-prepared meals, concierge, and transportation services.
The building’s Mediterranean architecture fits with the prevailing look of the surrounding community. The 103,000-square-foot building accommodates 136 individual residences for assisted living, and Alzheimer’s care with studio and one-bedroom apartments. The rate structure is a monthly lease, with no buy-in required.
Belmont Village communities are renowned across the senior care industry for their distinctive design, high standards for life safety, and reputation for quality. Residents enjoy restaurant-style dining with over 24 daily menu choices, housekeeping, transportation, social activities, and support from a well-trained staff, including a licensed nurse on-site 24/7.
