George B. Schenck
Private First Class, U.S. Army
1960 - 1964
“I served during Vietnam and the Berlin Crisis. The US sent 300,000 soldiers into Germany, which pushed Russians out who were trying to take over the city. I got to travel all over Germany and also see Norway and Sicily. I’m proud of my time in the service. I felt like we took care of business. I also had the opportunity to shake Kennedy’s hand twice.”
