Mary Strang, MD

Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army
1981 - 1989
I mostly did nuclear medicine and radiology as needed. The Army is the best place for physicians because they have many large hospitals all over the world. Whereas the other services don’t come up to that. I had fabulous experiences. The Navy asked me to consult in Naples. I lectured in Belgium. I went to Japan on a military tour. I went to Moscow to look at radioactive activity after Chernobyl. Eventually, I had the only nuclear medicine department in the Army that was run by a computer.
