Belmont Village La Jolla Reaching New Heights in Luxury Housing Market

Construction Nears Topping Out at Premier Senior Living Community

Luxury senior housing in San Diego is reaching new heights this week as two leaders in real estate – one with an expertise in improving the quality of life for seniors and the other, a global leader in residential development, are celebrating the near topping out of construction at Belmont Village La Jolla – a 17-story high-rise residential community at 3880 Nobel Drive near University Towne Centre.

In late 2017, Belmont Village Senior Living and Greystar began collaborating on the project, marking Belmont’s first partnership with another developer to provide its knowledge on creating a rich array of therapeutic activities and wellness for the aging population that helps its residents lead rich and fulfilling lives. Greystar brings its expertise in development and management of rental housing properties worldwide. The partners purchased the land together in March 2020, beginning construction in April 2020.

Belmont Village La Jolla will offer 180 residential units of independent living, assisted living and memory care as well as top-flight community amenities, wellness activities, innovative enrichment programs and first-rate clinical care upon completion in Summer 2022.

“We are grateful to our construction team that has exemplified all of the hard work needed to achieve this significant milestone safely and on schedule,” said Jerry Brand, Executive Director of Greystar. “We’re looking forward to continuing that effort to bring this much-anticipated residential project to completion, providing San Diego with an exceptional senior living opportunity.”

Rethinking senior living with a focus on well-being, Belmont Village is also collaborating with the world-renowned UC San Diego Stein Institute for Research on Aging to promote resilience and well-being through programs and activities for their residents.

“We are thrilled to share that we are coming down the home stretch on this unique project which is the  result of a wonderful partnership with Greystar, an absolute leader in their field,” says Patricia Will, founder and CEO of Belmont Village Senior Living. “As this special project comes to fruition, we are excited to add another layer of collaboration as we work with the UCSD Stein Institute to programmatically integrate their groundbreaking research into the everyday lives of our future La Jolla residents.  This will help us to continue to change the paradigm of what an aging community can be.”

In addition to the UCSD collaboration, other signature amenities at Belmont Village La Jolla will include a professionally managed fitness center, full-service salon and spa, private screening room, bistro for casual dining and full-service dining room, personal wine storage, sports lounge and arts and crafts studio. The community also will feature a variety of outdoor areas, such as terraces for dining, a fireplace and entertainment area, heated saltwater swimming pool, ocean views and private balconies on the top two floors.

The community will provide state of the art services and technology for residents in independent living, assisted living and memory care. The building will be fully licensed, to provide flexibility when care needs changes, and so couples with differing care needs can continue to live together while receiving the services each partner needs.

The architect on the 209,000 square foot building is Joseph Wong Design Associates and the project contractor is Suffolk Construction.

The Belmont Village Discovery Center is slated to open later this month. For more information, call 858-251-8883 or visit belmontvillage.com/lajolla.
