Belmont Village Artist Stories Sime

Dottie Sime: Artist in Residence

Musician
Belmont Village Senior Living

“It was in the 1930s, during the Golden Age of Hollywood, when I began to play the accordion. I lived with my family in Los Angeles, California, and attended Hollywood High School. It was a time and place when everyone appreciated the creative arts whether you were a musician, a singer/dancer or an actress. Lana Turner was one of my classmates. My instructor was preparing me for a career in radio, but I had other ideas. I had a short but exciting career as a model which ended when I married the love of my life, Ken. We were happily married for 72-years. I’m 92 and can still play the custom-made instrument I used for years entertaining audiences at clubs and civic events. My family members are my biggest fans!”
