Belmont Village celebrated the grand opening of its 28th community in Lakeway, Texas on June 23 and 24, 2018. Future residents Mr. and Mrs. Nichols attended the opening and spoke to KXAN about making the move and their new home at Belmont Village Lakeway. Belmont Village Chief Operating Officer Doug Lessard also spoke to KXAN about the rapidly rising population of seniors in Central Texas. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Austin metropolitan area is home to the second fastest-growing senior population, and between 2010 and 2017, Texas experienced the largest increase in the senior population in the U.S. with an increase of 12.6 percent to 3.1 million seniors.
