Memorial Day: Remembering and Honoring Those Who Served

Every Memorial Day, we take time as a nation to remember those who did not come home and the sacrifices they made for us. Memorial Day has always been an opportunity to honor the bravery of the men and women who served in our nation’s armed forces. This year, we’re giving our thanks a little differently—from six feet apart and with our masks on—but with the same spirit and gratitude as in years past.

At each community, we honor the men and women who served our country and call Belmont Village home. Since 2008, we have recognized more than 1,000 veterans who live in our communities through American Heroes: Portraits of Service Galleries in our communities. The compelling portraits by nationally recognized photographer Thomas Sanders blend history and art to create a lasting tribute to our veterans and all who have served. While our communities are closed to visitors at this time, we invite you to visit our online gallery, featuring the portraits and stories of veterans from across the country.
