Opening in Midst of Pandemic, Belmont Village Senior Living Fort Lauderdale Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Bringing Connectivity, Care, and Community to South Florida

Belmont Village - Fort Lauderdale

Despite the challenges of opening its doors during the pandemic, residents and family of Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale will be celebrating the one-year anniversary since the community officially opened. Over the last year, Belmont Village has enriched the residents’ daily lives with jazz concerts, synchronized swimming, art class, happy hour, and much more with friends, 24-7 care and engaging, intellectually rich, and highly engaged programming with a loving staff.

“Many of our residents who were alone in their homes during the first half of the pandemic experienced isolation, stress, and loneliness. Conversely, once they moved into Belmont Village last August, residents found comfort and care in community living. Surrounded by their peers and knowing that they were supported by around the clock care allowed them to enjoy rich and fulfilling lives. The full support also gave our residents loved one’s peace of mind until they could be reunited with after the community reached 100% vaccination rates this past spring,” says Patricia Will, Founder and CEO of Belmont Village Senior Living.

Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale is the company’s first foray into bringing their renowned independent living and assisted living, along with its award-winning memory care to the Sunshine State. The twelve-story building takes full advantage of its incredible location with expansive ocean and Intracoastal views, right by premier dining, shopping, and entertainment at The Galleria. Also, unique to its South Florida location, Belmont Village prioritized hurricane preparedness and safety precautions, carefully designing the building to withstand hurricane force winds and flooding.

“Our residents are an active group of individuals who have already created an incredibly close, inclusive, and adventurous atmosphere. We have residents who enjoy being creative, making custom gingerbread houses, Valentine’s Day cards, and Mardi Gras masks. They also relish in our purposeful programming like brain games and educational lectures by Nova Southeastern University along with trying new physical activities like hosting their own Olympic games and participating in karate, water aerobics and yoga classes. Our residents flourish from social engagement and bonding through collaborative activities like fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Association or celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride month,” says Rene Buck, Executive Director of Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale.

The building earned the 2020 Argentum Senior Living by Design award and is the only senior living facility to ever make the finals of the South Florida Business Journal’s Structures Award in the Best Architecture & Design. The luxury senior living community features chef-prepared dining on 12th floor with ocean views, professionally supervised programs in the fitness center, premier amenities and hospitality services like a salon, theater, concierge, and incredible outdoor spaces like the fifth-floor pool terrace and dining patios.

Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale thoughtfully caters to the safety and needs of residents while also providing a full spectrum of support with licensed nurses and well-trained staff on-site 24/7. All aspects of daily life are influenced by Belmont Village’s Whole Brain Fitness Lifestyle approach to programming, health, and wellness. Residents benefit from on-site physical, speech and occupational therapy services, short-term respite and transitional stays, a robust calendar of physical, mental and social activities, our proprietary and award-winning Circle of Friends® for mild to moderate memory loss, a dedicated, secured Memory Care Neighborhood and the Diabetes Center of Excellence.

“What separates us from typical senior living communities in Florida is our range of enrichment programs, high operating standards, award-winning memory care, premier hospitality and our focus on helping residents live engaging, purposeful lives,” adds Will. “Our mission is more important than ever as Covid-19 variants continue to keep many seniors aging at home alone. Since the pandemic began, we have put rigorous safety measures in place to not only safeguard our Belmont Village communities, but keep our residents engaged and connected mentally, physically, and socially.”

“When my friend and I found Belmont Village, I knew it was the perfect place for me. I needed help with care but I also wanted a place where I can continue to be social. I love the upscale feel. The décor is beautiful and the staff is great. I’ve been very happy since moving in and I feel lucky to be living in a community that welcomed me and made me feel at home since day one,” adds Toni Hadi, resident of Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale.
