Belmont Village Artist Stories Tatum

Loyce Tatum

Decorative Artist
Belmont Village Senior Living

When she retired as a high school teacher at age 58, Loyce Tatum took up decorative art painting and never looked back. From her studio in Warner Robins, GA, she launched a second career as an accomplished artist and member of the National Society of Decorative Painters. Two of Ms. Tatum’s most celebrated works include Christmas ornaments: a rocking horse ornament (1987) and an angel ornament (1990). Both are displayed and catalogued as part of the permanent collection of the American History Division at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.
